One-Button Dodger · plays in your browser

One button. Flip gravity. Don't touch the spikes.

You're a spark stuck to the floor or the ceiling. Tap to flip gravity and fall the other way — but you can't flip again until you land. Spikes jut from both sides. One hit ends the run. Your score is how many seconds you last.

The core loop

Flip to dodgeFloor spike, go to the ceiling; ceiling spike, go to the floor. There's always one safe surface.
A flip is a commitmentMid-flip (~180 ms) you can't flip again. Mistime it and you're hit.
The orb is a risk you chooseOrbs sit on the dangerous surface. Dip over for one and your score multiplier climbs; skip it and you're safe.

  • Tension that ramps smoothlySpeed and spike density rise gradually; ceiling spikes from 6 s, slot gaps from 45 s.
  • Plays anywhereMouse, touch, or any key. Respects prefers-reduced-motion, colour-blind safe.

Frequently asked

Is it free?

Yes. Completely free, no ads, no in-game purchases.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs straight in the browser (desktop and mobile). The bundle is ~418 KB and loads in about 0.2 seconds.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes — tap the screen to flip. It's tuned for landscape for now; a portrait layout is on the roadmap.

Where is my best time stored?

Only in your browser's localStorage — no account, nothing sent anywhere. Clearing your cache loses it; a persistent best is on the roadmap.

Is it smooth?

Locked 60 fps, seed-deterministic sim. Respects prefers-reduced-motion: screen-shake, particles and the death shatter are turned off.
